Threads

Messages use threads between people who share a team context. You can start or reply where your role and membership allow.

Team Thread (everyone on the roster)

Each team has a Team Thread (labeled Team Thread in the app) that includes everyone on the roster who has an account. You cannot leave that conversation while you remain on the team; membership follows the roster. Smaller group threads are separate: you can leave those to remove only yourself (they are not deleted for other people).

Group threads (participant limit)

New group threads include you plus the people you pick. There is a per-thread limit on how many people can be in a group conversation (everyone on the thread counts toward the limit, including you). If the roster is larger, start more than one group thread or use the Team Thread for the whole team.

Alerts (team)

Alerts are typically one-way announcements from staff to the team or segments of the roster. They are not the same as two-way threads.

Club Messages (web)

If your organization uses a club and you have access to the club dashboard, open Messages under Club. There you get a single inbox of team threads from every linked team you belong to—so you can read and reply without switching teams in the sidebar.

Starting a thread from the club

When you start a new thread from club Messages, you choose a linked team first, then pick participants from that team’s roster (staff, players, and messageable household members, same rules as team messaging). Each thread still belongs to one team; the club view simply gathers the conversations you can access.

Starting a thread from Club Players (without opening Messages first)

Club staff can start a group thread from the player’s profile instead of going to Club Messages first.

Web (club dashboard)

  1. Open ClubPlayers.
  2. Use Search players if needed, then open a player to see the detail drawer.
  3. Tap Message household.
  4. In the modal, review who is selected (household members with accounts, and the player when they have an account). Use Select all / Clear all or toggle individuals, then Start thread.

Mobile (club app)

  1. Open the club Players screen (or open a linked team from the club and choose a player from the roster there).
  2. Tap the player to open the bottom sheet.
  3. Tap Message household.
  4. In the sheet, adjust recipients the same way, then Start thread.

The thread is always tied to the linked team that player is on—Footigan picks that team for you. Dependents without their own account cannot be added as thread participants; parents or guardians with accounts can be. After creation, the app opens the conversation; it also appears in ClubMessages with your other team threads.

What club Messages does not include

On the club Messages screen you will see message threads only. Alerts stay on each team’s own Messages area. Club broadcasts are separate (see Club broadcasts).

Broadcasts (club)

Broadcasts are organization-level announcements with a chosen audience. They are not the same as two-way threads. See Club broadcasts.

Notifications

The web app may show an inbox or badge for unread items. Mobile can use push notifications when configured. Exact behavior depends on your device settings and team activity.
